Hann mælti þá við Korpúlf frænda sinn: "Til fjarri var eg nú.
He then spoke to Korpulf, his relative: "I was now to far off. (?)

Eigi skyldi Ólöf svo farið hafa enda skal eg þegar leita á fund Búa er sár mitt er gróið."
Olof should not so have left and yet I shall at once visit Bua when my wound is healed."

Korpúlfur segir: "Illa gerir þú það," sagði hann, "er þú leggur eftir Ólöfu hug þinn.
Korpulfur says: "You do that poorly," he said, "when you give back Olof your desire.

Skaltu og eigi að mínu ráði leita á fund Búa nema þú hafir menn marga."
You will also not by my advice visit Bua except (if) you have many men."

10. kafli
Nú líður á veturinn og gerast gróin sár Kolfinns og þá mælti hann: "Nú mun eg fara að finna móður mína og fá mér þaðan menn en Grímur son þinn skal vera á morgun fyrir mér við Leiruvogsá og þeir menn sem þú sendir til liðs við mig."
Now the winter passes and the wounds of Kolfinn become healed and then he said: "I will now go to meet my mother and get (for) me men from there and Grimur your son tomorrow will be before me with Leiruvogsa and their men as you send as assistance to me."

Korpúlfur kvað svo vera skyldu.
Korpulfur said (it) would be so.

Um morguninn fundust þeir frændur þar sem Kolfinnur hafði ákveðið og urðu þeir saman fimmtán.
During the morning the relatives met there as Kolfunnur had appointed and they became (i.e., numbered) fifteen together.

Fóru þeir síðan alla þá leið þar til er þeir komu undir fjallið hjá helli Búa. Var þar einstig bratt. Þar voru uppi tveir varðmenn, vel vopnaðir.
They went then all the way there until they come under the mountain next to Bua's cave.

Var þar einstig bratt.
(There) was a steep path there.

Þar voru uppi tveir varðmenn, vel vopnaðir.
Two watchmen, well armed, lived there.

Höfðu þeir og nógt grjót.
They also had sufficient stones. (??)

Sá Kolfinnur að þeir máttu með öngu móti vinna einstigið.
Kolfinnur said that they were able to overcome with nothing against the narrow path.

Kolfinnur kallar þá og mælti: "Ef Búi má heyra mál mitt þá gangi hann úr einstiginu ef hann hefir heldur manns hug en berkykvendis."
Kolfunnur calls them and said: "If Bui is able to hear my speech, then he should go out of the steep path if he has a man's mind rather than a bare animal."

Búi heyrði gjörla orð Kolfinns.
Bui fully heard Kolfinn's words.

Hljóp hann þá upp og greip vopn sín og kveðst aldrei skyldu þola klækisorð Kolfinns.
He then leapt up and seized his weapon and said for himself (he) should never endure Kolfinn's name for cowardice.

Ólöf kvað óráðlegt út að ganga við þann liðsmun sem vera mundi.
Olaf said (it was) inadvisable to go out with the as would be.

Búi kveðst eigi það hirða.
Bui said for himself not to mind that.

Og er Búi var vopnaður þá laust þeim verk í augu hans bæði að hann varð þar báðum höndum til að grípa.
And when Bui was armed then struck them pain in both his eyes that he lost both hands (ability) to grasp (anything).

Ólöf spurði hvað honum væri.
Olof asked what it was.

Búi kvað þá mundu seinkast um útgönguna: "Get eg," sagði hann, "að fóstra mín hlutist nú til."
Bui said then (he) would be delayed concerning going out: "I get," he said, "to now meddle with my foster-relative." (Z. hluta - hlutast til e-s, to meddle with a thing)

Ólöf kvað það vel vera.
Olof said that is easily (done).

Þá er Kolfinnur þóttist vita að ekki mundi verða útgangan Búa sneri hann þá á braut og hans menn.
When Kolfinnur thought to know that Bua's departure would not happen, he and his men turned away.

Létti hann þá eigi fyrr en hann kom heim og undi illa við sína ferð.
He didn't stop then before he came home and was ill-content with his journey.

Þegar er Kolfinnur sneri braut frá einstiginu bætist Búa augnaverkjarins.
At once when Kolfinnur turned away from the steep path, Bua's eye pains got better.

Leið nú af veturinn.
The winter passed away.
