XXI. Kapítuli: Frá Víga-Óbívani Kvægganssyni

Lúkr stóð á fjalltindi ok leit, hvar sól lægði, ok jÇ«kull fyr honum vas sem spegill, ok þar í horfði þat út, sem Ç«nnur sól lægði.

Luke stood at a mountain peak and saw, where (the) sun lowered (i.e., went down), and (the) ice (jÇ«kull = jökull) before him was as a mirror, and there in that looked out, as another sun set.

Því hét þat fjall Tvísólatindr, ok þar stóð Lúkr opt einn saman ok íhúga sÇ«gur um víkinga ok konunga.

Thus that mountain was named Tvisolatindr (Two Sun Peak), and Luke often stood there all alone and mused over tales of Vikings and kings.

En síðan kom Þrípíó þangat ok sagði, at bróðir hans Artú væri flýðr.

And then 3PO came thither and said, that his brother R2 had (literally "was") fled.

"Reyndir þú nekkvat," segir Lúkr, "At hindra hann?"

"Do you try(?) any," says Luke, "to hinder him?"

"Já víst, bokki sæll," segir Þrípíó, "En hann es mjÇ«k sterkari enn ek, ok talar hann enn of Víga-Óbívan Kvæggansson."

"Certainly, my good fellow," says 3PO, "But he is much stronger than I, and he talks still of Slayer-Obiwan Kwaegannson."

"Segiðu ekki frænda mínum Ónum," segir Lúkr, "Því at hann mun vera inn reiðasti.

"Don't tell my relative Oinn," says Luke, "Because he would be very angry.

En á morgin skulum vit leita Artús, ok ef hann lýgr til þess, at hann væri þræll Víga-Óbívans Kvægganssonar, þá skal ek drepa hann sem snarast.

But in (the) morning we search (for) R2, and if he is telling a lie about that, that he was a thrall of Slayer-Obiwan, son of Kwaegan, then I shall slay him at once.

En ek vil hvergi leita hans í nótt, því at ránsmenn, Tuskinssynir, búa meðal hrauna ok sandbrekka, ok Óinn frændi vildi eigi at ek bæri vÇpn."

But I will by-no-means search (for) him tonight, because robbers, Tuskin's sons, live among (the) lava-fields and sand-ridges, and kinsman Oinn doesn't want that I carry a weapon."

Lúkr átti hest góðan, rauðan at lit; sá hestr hét Landhraðfœrr.

Luke had a good horse, red in color; the horse was named Landhradfoer (Swift Land).

At morni riðu þeir Þrípíó þessum góða hesti ok sóttu Artú.

In (the) morning they, 3PO (and he), rode this good horse and went-to-fetch R2.

Þat es gjá mikil í Tattúínárdal, es heitir Stafkarlsgjá; þar bjó Óbívan inn gamli, ok þar sóttu þeir Artú.

That is a large chasm in Tattuinardal, which is called Stafkarlsgja; there Obiwan the old lived, and there they went-to-fetch R2.

Þeir fundu hann þegar; en Artú vildi eigi koma með.

They found him at once; but R2 didn't want to come with (them).

"Þú ert þræll Lúks Anakinssonar nú," segir Þrípíó honum, "Ok fyr hví vildirðu enn renna?

"You are a thrall of Luke Anakinson now," says 3PO to him, "And why vildirðu(?) still run away?

Hann fengi fœrðan þik til þessa Óbívans ef þú mundi sýna honum boðit."

He got you brought to this Obiwan if you would show him the message."

En Artú kvað, "Ragr maðr ertu víst, bróðir minn.

But R2 said, "You certainly are a cowardly man, my brother.

Sveinn es sjá en engi drengr.

The boy is not a valiant man.

Víga-Óbívan Kvæggansson má finnask sem skjótast, eða skal Veiðr drepa Leiu konungsdóttur, ok sigla DauðastjÇ«rnu jafnvel til Aldiransveita.

Slayer-Obiwan Kvaegganson can be found very quickly, or Veider will kill Princess Leia and sail the Deathstar equally well to Aldiransvite.

Víga-Óbívan Kvæggansson es maðr drengilegr ok hatask við Falfaðin konung; hann vildi gjarna hjálpa øss.

Slayer-Obiwan Kwaeganson is a valiant man and is full of hatred against King Palpatine; he would willingly help us.

En Lúkr þinn vildi heldr hlýða frænda sínum enn fara á víking; es hann maðr ragr sem þú sjálfr."

But your Luke would rather listen to his relative still go harrying; he is a cowardly man like you yourself."
