After that their journey was prepared (for) and they rode afterwards to
(the) Thing and tented their booths and made themselves well ready (all)

Flosi reið austan og þeir tíu tigir manna er að brennu höfðu verið með

um daginn en um kveldið riðu þeir vestur yfir Þjórsá og sváfu þar um

morguninn snemma tóku þeir hesta sína og riðu fram á leið.

the morning early they caught their horses and rode further (Z).

Flosi mælti til manna sinna: "Nú munum vér ríða í Tungu til Ásgríms
Elliða-Grímssonar

Flosi spoke to his men, "Now we will ride to Tongue to Asgrim Ellida-Grim's

at daymeal and have it out with him."

They declared it well done. They ride now until when they have scarcely
(reached?) Tongue.

Ásgrímur stóð úti og nokkurir menn með honum. Þeir sjá þegar flokkinn er
mátti heiman.

Asgrim stood outside and some men with him. They could see the crowd at
once from home. (not sure what role "er" has here)

Menn Ásgríms mæltu: "Þar mun vera Þorgeir skorargeir."

Asgrim's men spoke, "There will be Thorgeir spear from Notch.

Ásgrímur mælti: "Ekki in heldur ætla eg það því að þessir menn fara með
hlátri og gapi

Asgrim spoke, "I rather do not expect it because these men go with laughter
and shouting

for the burning. And I will venture another guess and may be that you think
it unlikely. It is my expectation

mín að vera muni Flosi og brennumenn með honum og munu þeir ætla að troða
illsakar

have it out

við oss og skulum vér nú inn ganga allir."

with us and we shall now all go inside."

Þeir gera nú svo. Ásgrímur lét sópa hús og tjalda og setja borð og bera mat

They do so now. Asgrim had house and tents (? or hangings placed in the
house) swept and table set and food carried out. He had

Flosi rode into the field and bade men dismount and go inside. They did so.

reiðubúið það er menn þurftu að hafa.

came into the room. Asgrim sat at the dais. Flosi looked at the benches
and saw that everything was prepared that which men needed to have.

Asgrim did not greet them but spoke to Flosi, "There are tables set (and)
food is free to have for them who have need."
