Afterwards they went to (the) booth of the Mordruvellir people and asked
whether Gudmund the powerful were in (the) booth

and they were told that he was there. Then they went inside then into the
booth. (The) high seat was in (the) middle of the booth

og sat þar Guðmundur ríki. Ásgrímur gekk fyrir Guðmund og kvaddi hann.
Guðmundur tók honum vel og bauð honum að sitja.

and Gudmund the powerful sat there. Asgrim went before Gudmund and greeted
him. Gudmund received him well and offered him to sit (a seat).

Ásgrímur mælti: "Eigi vil eg sitja en biðja vil eg þig liðsinnis því að þú
ert kappsamur og mikill höfðingi."

Asgrim spoke, "I do not want to sit but want to ask you for support because
you are energetic and a very powerful chieftain."

Guðmundur mælti: "Ekki skal eg í móti þér vera. En ef mér sýnist að veita
þér lið þá

Gudmund spoke, "I shall not be against you. But if it seems to me
(desireable) to assist you then

munum við vel mega tala um það síðar" og tók á öllu vel.

we will be able to speak about it easily later" and took everything well.

Ásgrímur þakkaði honum orð sín.

Asgrim thanked him for his words.

Gudmund spoke, "That one man is in your company who I have turned to for
some time and seems to me

ólíkur flestum mönnum þeim er eg hefi séð."

unlike to most of those men whom I have seen."

"Hver er sá?" segir Ásgrímur.

"Who is that one?" says Asgrim.

"Fjórir menn ganga fyrri en hann," segir Guðmundur, "jarpur á hár og
föllitaður, mikill

than ten others. And still this man is unlucky."

Skarphedinn spoke, "I know that you think to speak to me and our ill luck is

Thorkell ? and Thorir Helgi's son, slandered you and you have from it the
most vexation."

Gengu þeir þá út. Skarphéðinn mælti þá. "Hvert skulum vér nú ganga?"

Then went out then. Skarphedinn spoke then, " Where shall we go now?"

"Til Ljósvetningabúðar," segir Ásgrímur.

"To (the) booths of Losawater people," says Asgrim
