If you have XP you can get a Character map

Go to
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Character map ? then if you right click that you are able to pin it to start menu where is it handy = it can be activated from ther with a Double left click and it is on your screen ready for use
You hold the Alt and use  4 fig combination s of figures from the right hand side of your Keyboard

Hold Alt and do 0240 you get ð or hold Alt and do 0230 you get æ I think you will find umlauts and all sorts of
Accents in the Character Map for any language Alt 0233 - é

Wish you well with it
Patricia
