sorry to say it but "var bor du" means " = "what live you"  
in danish we say "hvor bor du" = "where live you"

Funny you should mention that. In my futile attempts to learn modern Swedish, I
learned that the modern Scandinavian and German languages have a grammar and
syntax almost identical to Elizabethan English. I'm not sure if modern
Icelandic follows that same pattern or not.

"Vas Machst du?"= "what makest thou?" Var bor du? -=Where livest thou?" usw.

I recall that when Ingmar Bergman did a production of Romeo and Juliet in
Swedish for the theater, it worked perfectly.
