Ah yes, of course! Thanks, Haukur. I copied and pasted the quote
from this text here [ http://www.snerpa.is/net/isl/th-vidfo.htm ]
which has modern spelling. The same goes for the example from
Gunnlaugs saga, which appears elsewhere online in normalised ON
spelling as: 'Þú bautt mér hólmgöngu í sumar á alþingi, ok þótti þér
sú ekki reynd verða.'

MnIc. þú bauðst = OIc. 'þú bautt' (Hartmut Röhn: Erläuterungen zur
Grammatik des Altisländischen § 7.1, Pilar Fernández Álvarez: Antiguo
Islandés § 25.1.2, Cleasby & Vigfússon, p. 37, 42) or 'þú bauzt'
(Gordon: An Introduction to Old Norse § 123, Sweet: An Icelandic
Primer § 135).
