Found it under andaðr in my glossary of the New Intro. to O/N and it just means dead
this is just probably a vowel mutation or something

Then Valgard, his father, was out (of the country) and his
mother was (breathing?, a duck? or according to MM & HP, dead). He was very
envious

We should cherish the web footed folk for a Duck may be somebody's Mother
OTOH I think the  öndud means that she was put to death Zoega page 529 Left hand column öng gives us fara öndu e-s to put to death ,

önd does mean breath true - I just think from this Zoega that I have it implies she was breathing - but actually dead

I am having trouble with this one - will be a while yet - don't wait up for me

BTW the email address I use was kicked out from O/E and I am trying on Incredimail
