people to row - per oar - or something like that it was puzzling.
But those oars may have been large enough to need more than one person per oar
In that Galleon in Ben-Hur there were four people per oar, was that what you envisaged

Zoega has twenty oared ship, where Alan had rightly translated twenty seat
(sessu) ship so for each seat, there would obviously be two oars so I should
have had 40 oared and 60 oared ship respectively.
