Taken from CV it is the plural of leigu-staðr and the
definition is as - leigu-staðr m. -
a place where money is invested, investment.
There are a lot of leigu - words , here are a
few
leigu-maðr - a tenant / leigu-lauss - rent free,
without interest
it all seems to relate back to LEIGA - for hire or
rent
