Hi there Let's look at an appropriate verb.

That is að  fá [fow] to become or get or beget (fá það).

KenniMyndir: fá- (ég fæ)-fáum-hef fengið.

Now I have "Fengi"  the name marks that I got. Fengi is gefandi also for "Fengur" the catch.

"FengiTími" is mating period .

Fengisöm as "horny"?

But Fengsöm says she is same (söm) as Fengi: eager of getting things.

Ef  ég fengi... conditional optative: If got a new car, new sofa,......

Dictonary gives: making a good haul; acquisitive.

"Eigi munt þú þurfa að  sitja til alls því bæði þarf í búið mjöl og skreið."

Proverb: Sveltur sitjandi  kráka.  Sitting crow [kró]  starves.

She is provoking  him as "maður þarf að vinna til alls" :man has to work to gain.

The  role of male.
