Höskuldur og laust sveininn með sprota, þann er Mörður nefndist, en sprotinn
kom í andlitið og sprakk fyrir.
And the servant loosed? a stick, that (he) had named Mordr, but the stick

(whose???) face and broke (the skin) (Z). ( I wasn't sure who threw the
stick either)
Höskuldur mælti við sveininn: "Verð úti og drag engan spott að oss."
Hoskuld spoke with the servant, " Be gone and do not hold (Z) us up to
mockery."
Hrútur mælti: "Gakk hingað til mín."
Hrut spoke, "Go (come) hither to me."
Sveinninn gerði svo. Hrútur dró fingurgull af hendi sér og gaf honum og
mælti: "Far í braut og leita á engan mann síðan."
The servant did so. Hrut drew a gold ring (from a finger) from his hand and
gave (it) to him and said, "Go away and blame no man afterwards."
Sveinninn fór í braut og mælti: "Þínum drengskap skal eg við bregða æ
síðan."
The servant went away and spoke, " Your high-mindedness shall I praise (Z)
always afterwards."
Af þessu fékk Hrútur gott orð. Síðan fóru þeir vestur heim og er nú lokið
þrætum þeirra Marðar.
From this Hrut made good repute. Afterwards they went west home and is now
ended their litigation (with) Mordr.
