Au sujet de "Messieurs.Cleasby et Vigfusson.
I have enorm esteem for Mr.Vigfússon by his work the linguistic
brigde between the two sistertongues came visible a gain.
Unfortunately Mr. Vigfuson is not at all well known here in Iceland.
But My native Dictionaries are later and team of scholars has
prepared them at the cost of the goverenment. "Menningarsjóður 1976"
And this is the only explaintion of "vararfeldur" given in there
and said point to outdated custom. I reckon the preparation
included "Njála". Pas Moi.

Sit in English would be spelled "Sitt" as it sounds (long/fast t-
sound)
"Sitt'u" on dit a son chien. "Seztu" or "Fáðu þér sæti".: have a
seat.
"Sit" of "Sitja" (be sitting). "Seztu" of "Setjast".
"Sit" Icelandic [simple shown]t sounds as -t- in water.
Latin defination is Icelandic "Sit" has long vowel sound but
Englis "sit" has short vowel sound. Okey?
In Iceland we do not use this indo-german notation.
We are nicely still of the old fashion and conservative in nature
concernant linguistic ethics I reckon. Every syllable begins with a
vowel, except the ones ending with consonants and commencing with
Capital-consonants.
