Dear all,
Yup, it sounds great. I just wanted to have something started. I agree with the idea of finishing Hrafnkels. My idea was just to get something started. Summer is over and the new term has just begun. Anyway, finishing Hrafnkels saga sounds good, though I agree with Allan that maybe having two simultaneous translations might be a good idea. Personally I dealt with Hrafnkels in Gordon's book some years ago when I first approached the language and I am not sure about doing it again; that's why I have been absent from that translation (not that I know it all, for gods' sake no!). Anyway, the idea is to get something going on and is some of you guys agree we can work on two texts. Dunno. Might depend on who is in charge of this discussion list. Also working on some FAS might give us some ideas for the next saga conference, which will take place partly here in York.
Anyway, if the person in charge of the group agrees on two parallel translations (I am not sure who it is anymore) then I will post the first ten or so lines of Illuga saga Gridarfostra ASAP, so we can say good bye to a long summer.
Without much more to say
have a nice rest of the weekend

Hi Fernando

I am interested. Let’s do it!

In July I offered to continue with Hrafnkels saga when I returned from my holiday. Now that I’m back I’m happy to leave this to after Grims saga lodhinkinna or perhaps to run the two texts in parallel (posting the Hrafnkell text 5 days after each Grimr text, say), depending on the preferences of others.

Hi,

Is there anyone out there still interested in doing translations other than sword names, lyrics, magic runes, etc?

If so, I would like to propose  Grims saga lodhinkinna, which takes roughly 15 pages in the Gudni Jonsson edition of the Fornaldar sogur.

It would be nice to get that or something else started!

I could at least post the working material every 10 days or so and then discuss our translations! Dunno! This is just turning into a very odd group list!

Lets get something translated!

Cheers
