Vikings: certainly sounded like a term of disapproval/mockery in the
quotes I found. I wonder if it would have a distinct feminine form
(like 'íbúa' "[female] inhabitant]), or whether the masculine would
do for all (like 'drengr' "bold, doughty fellow").
