Thanks for comments, corrections and suggestions. Yes Tarrin Will's site
together with the Transparent Language Language learning software gave
me the idea. I emailed Tarrin the other day to see if he used any
special software to set up his site but no reply as yet. However, the
actual method I used for my demo was pinched from this site:
http://lang.swarthmore.edu/glossmaker.htm

It did take some time to get right, mainly because I had to teach myself
a new language as I went: JavaScript. However, with a bit more work I
think I will be able to automate the process and so make it easier to
add new texts in the future. I thought to start with I might try the
complete text of Auðun, for putting on the Norse Course site, as
suggested by Haukur...but that will have to wait until September.

Re. website, looks good! 'þykja' usually spelt 'þykkja'
in normalised OIc. or sometimes 'þikkja'. "subj" might be ambiguous-
-could be read as "subjunctive" instead of "subject". Should the
entry for 'vilja' read vil, vildi, viljat? And in the entry
for 'vera', should 'varu' read 'váru'? As far as I've seen, it's
usual to mark the vowel as long in normalised OIc., whether 'váru'
or 'vóru'. As for the format, it's nice to be able to click on
words for an instant explanation (were you inspired by Tarrin
Wills's site?
http://teaching.arts.usyd.edu.au/english/2000/icel/ ). I'm a great
believer in learning the easy way wherever possible! I bet it takes
ages to set up though.
