(I hope it isn't annoying to anyone that I send this.)     (=

My name's Justin Farwell and i'm typing from California.

Hopefully, when I'm done with stupid community college, I'll get to study Ancient Germanic languages at UC Berkeley or Cornell (or God help me to do it, Selwyn college at Cambridge!) At length, I'll be studying Old Norse, so this group seems awesome, especially these convenient lessons the site gives. my copy of Gordon's book is quite comprehendible but a little dry and indirect me thinketh.

if it interests anyone, I'm pretty good with Chaucer's Middle English and I'm okay with Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. I also teach beginners Latin in the Ancient Languages Club at Sierra College (which I started! Wahoo!)

This coming summer, when I'll be studying Old Norse as well as Old English, I hope to be a more active participant in this group.

Oh yeah, I've got plenty of books on other various dead languages, like Old Irish, Gothic, Middle Welsh, Ancient Greek, some Middle High and Old High German stuff, so if anyone needs me to look up something for them, I'd be happy to.

Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Justin
