Hi

I know this request is sort of 'off topic' in that I'm not studying
the Norse language exactly...but when you need information, go to the
experts, right?

So if anyone can, or is willing to, help me, I'd be most grateful.

I need some help with Old Norse terminology/language. Without going
into EXTREME detail, I'm setting up an RPG that will be loosely based
(very loosely) on Norse mythology. The basis premise is that there
will be a 'good' side led by Thor, and a 'bad' side led by Loki (both
gods in Norse mythology).

The good warriors won't be perfect by any means, but they're honor
bound, oath sworn fighters that will do the death before dishonor
thing...except they're already dead and raised up by Thor with
immortality in order to protect humans. So after much research, I
came across this word: Einherjar

Its supposedly the name that was given to the group of warriors that
made it to Valhalla after death. However, for an RPG that I'm hoping
to lure players too, saying join now and you can be an "Einherjar"
just doesn't have a good ring to it, you know? So if anyone here has
any idea of what would be a good, appropriate, old-norse name for my
warriors, I'd be very grateful!

And since I'm already here bothering you all :) Could you help me
with the name of the bad side too? Same premise, except they're
raised up by Loki, and they happen to be vampiric in nature. I've
searched...can't find a translation for vampire at all. Though
bloddrikke (which an online translator assured me meant Blood-
drinkers) doesn't sound too bad.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at:

Thanks
