First, touch your tongue to the back of your top, front teeth.
Then, withdraw the tongue towards the back until you feel that little
ridge on the roof of your mouth. Keep your tongue at about that point
(though - not necessarily touching). Now, form your lips as to say the
u-sound (not 'you' but 'oou yuck!'). Exaggerate the form and, leaving
your tongue relaxed, blow air through your lips. When your tongue
begins to flutter, you can add something of a light growl to it to
make it sound a bit like a cat purring. When this feels natural
to you, attempt to form your lips as if you wish to say the e-sound
(as in 'eh you!'). When this is natural, try to say 'r' (as in 'are')
with your mouth in that e-position, and a relaxed tongue. The tongue
should flutter.
