Thanks, Sarah.  It's nice to know that someone doesn't think I'm an idiot. ^_^

Also, thanks for the grammar lesson.  It's really helpful.

Hi Teja!

I've got a 12 year old daughter who is just as feisty as you and she's one of the best things that ever happened to me!  I think it's great that you're learning ON.  I wish my kids would show that kind of initiative!

Bye the way, a tip for telling the gender of nouns... have a look at the adjective (if there is one) because the form of that can often give you a clue about the gender of the noun.  For example, heir (heath) and hestr (horse) could easily be the same gender.  But when theres an adjective there, it's form might give you a clue.
e.g.  hann sr raua heii - must be fem because the adjective ends in -a
but   hann sr rauan hest - must be masc because it ends in -an

Good luck!
Sarah.

HEY MIKEY!!!!!

I'm not new to this group, but I might as well be.  Prepare to be amazed.  A thought that goes something like, "Is this kid dumb or what!!" shall go skateboarding through your mind when you read that I'm an idiot twelve year old kid who wants to learn old norse by eighth grade and couldn't spell "limbo" in the spelling bee, which was held in the auditorium in front of her whole middle school.  You probably know lots of stuff about old norse that I don't.  I'm still trying to figure out how to tell a feminine word from a masculine one.  So, realize that you aren't the only intimidated person here.  I, for one, would like to congradulate you on your courage of speaking up on your first time.  I did that too, but eventually learned to shut up (but not when there was a chance of starting an argument.  I did something once that got everybody all fighty and stuff.  I think Arlie's still mad at me.  No offense!!)  Arlie's a moderator.  I'm a smart mouth wild thing who makes people mad.  What are you?  I hope you and I can get through old norse and that my greeting gets through.
Bye!!!

Teja Anneliese Johnson-Lewis and isn't that a mouthful?!
