Heil!
Since we've been discussing pronunciation lately I read
aloud a couple of stanzas from Vellekla (Gold Shortage)
and added them to my site:
http://www.hi.is/~haukurth/norse/sounds/vellekla.html
And since my pronunciation of English was mentioned I
decided to give a sample and read Laing's (horribly
inaccurate) translation of the same lines.
Taping one's own voice and listening to it is a well
known method for improving pronunciation but I don't
remember doing it before. This is actually rather
instructive. For example I seem to have trouble with
the 'ch' affricate (in "champions"). I had no idea.
Maybe you lot can help point out some other problem
areas. I don't think I could realistically learn to
sound like a native speaker but maybe I could improve
just a little.
How about some english_course for a change? ;)

P.S. Seriously my pronunciation of English isn't exactly
on topic here so if you only want to comment on that then
address the letter to me personally;
