I put out an ending to the mini-lesson posting a few days ago. Since
posting it, I've noticed that there are a number of subordinate clauses
within several of the individual sentences. I'm including it here as an html
attachment way down below (just click on it and it will open up in your
browser without trouble).

My questions are
1) does the V2 rule hold within subordinate clauses?
2) are there any basic "rules" that one could follow concerning word order
within said clauses?
3) does the text make sense, in general?

If the sense is elusive, here is what I wanted to say:

Now, because Olaf is a man holy and very good, he wants greatly and often to
talk. For this reason he says to the evil men, "why want you to kill the
four of us because you see and hate us? You see us not as we are but as you
want to see us. Know the seven of you not that if you do that which is good
then good you are? I require you to ask yourselves if you want to be evil or
good." Then Eirik, with his sword, kills Olaf in front of his men (Olaf's).
Olaf's men flee into a forest. Eirik says, "I am happy that Olaf speaks
not."
