Thank's to some advice - I can now read all the odd little characters
coming across my screen these days. For others who may be stumbling
around, change your text editors encoding to Western European (ISO).

However, this will do nothing to improve your chances of entering in
these characters. I'm using, at this computer, Windows 95. To Fix Things
Up, I went to the Keyboard section of the Control Panel and, within the
Language tab, requested to Add a language - then added Icelandic from the
list. You can then choose whatever short-cut keys you wish in order to
switch between your language settings (this you can freely do). You will
find that the keyboard is not as it appears - so here is the translation:

á,é,í,ó,ú,ý = ' (single quotation) + a,e,i,o,u,y
ä,ë,ï,ö,ü = ~ (tilde) + a,e,i,o,u -or- ö = - (dash)
þ = /
ð = [
æ = ;

There are a few other oddities to be gotten used to - but these are the
important ones.

Now I can stop harping about html!
