Yes, another unpardonable sin perpetrated by Oxford University
Press. They let Cleasby/Vigfusson go out of print around the
same time as they published Larrington's translation.

However, I have actually received rather good news this very
morning. I have been campaigning for the republication of
Cleasby/Vigfusson for many years. A friend of mine, who is in
publishing in England, has just told me that a company he
represents, Drake International, has just bought a publisher
called Hisarlik Press, and intends to form a new publishing
company from their list, the Scandianavian Academic Press.
They are much interested in republishing Cleasby/Vigfusson,
and are already trying to come to terms with Oxford University
Press. Possibly they will republish Zoega as well (another
one of OUP's sins).

But by all means get your copy of Cleasby/Vigfusson wherever
you can find it. It will prove to be worth the money spent,
I can promise you that much! Even if it gets republished, there
is no way of telling when this will happen, and how much they
are going to charge for it.

Pelle
