I beg everybody's pardon for sending the extremely long
"Larrington post" to the group. It was meant to be sent
privately. Normally I would ask the owner's permission
before sending such a long post to the group, but I'm sure
Haukur will forgive me. All I can now hope for is that the
contents will be of use to some of those present. If any
of you are using Larrington's translation of Völuspá, I
recommend that you read it - you will find that this is
definitely NOT an accurate translation, in any sense of
the word.

I am glad you did send it. I have always wanted to have more information on some of the specifics of why Larrington’s translation is considered so poorly. Personally I would like to see more of such examinations. Much appreciated.
