Major publishing event:

An Icelandic publisher, in cooperation with the
University of Iceland, has just published a
commemorative edition of the Codex Regius (King's
Book) of the Eddaic poems, aka GKS 2365 4to.

This contains, for the first time ever, color
reproductions of all 90 pages of the Codex, which
is the most important of all Icelandic manuscripts.
It also contains an exact transcription, and
a modern Icelandic version of the poems on facing
pages. A detailed introduction has been written by
Vésteinn Ólason, head of the Arnamagnaean Institute
at the University of Iceland. An English translation
of this is included.

The book is lavishly produced, hand-bound in
vellum. The edition is limited to 500 numbered copies.
The price is in the neighborhood of 200 dollars.

Boksala Studenta, the University Bookstore of Reykjavik,
