Heill Ketill,

I'm not going to answer anything specific from your arguments; I just
want to politely try to explain why I criticized you.

In simple terms, "This isn't the course for you, and you're not the
student for this course."

Why is this course not for you? Because you want to learn ON by using
it in interchange, at the same time mentioning various other things
from related languages and topics, getting corrected, using the
dictionary, not by any organized step-by-step lessons, just by
"talking" (i.e. mailing). That is all well and good :) I don't have
anything against that method; in fact, I think it is the right method
for you, considering your linguistic background.

But you won't get that here; unfortunately, we don't provide it. This
course is designed for people of a completely different linguistic
background. Observing that most of the ON enthusiasts are
English-speakers without prior knowledge of foreign languages or
education in classical grammar, we have designed the course to guide
the student, step-by-step, in a "protected environment" (where we
select what words and what grammar the student encounters). We believe
that this is the kind of method that will succeed for the majority of
the students who come here. I don't think you are going to challenge
that judgement.

Why aren't you the student for this course? Well, the statement
shouldn't be taken too seriously; I just mean that an enthusiastic
student, engaged in a course that doesn't fit him at all, but does fit
the rest of the students, is out of place. Most of your posts are
incomprehensible and unhelpful to the rest. It's a waste of effort,
Keth; you should be posting it somewhere else. Don't feel that I'm
really criticizing your material. I'm just saying that it would be
much better appreciated somewhere else. And if that somewhere else
doesn't exist, then I encourage you to make it! You could make a group
of your own, an "ON discussion" group. It would probably be useful to
Scandinavian and German students of ON, perhaps even to some students
here. I would be honored to take a look every now and then and comment
on your ponderings :)
