I have earlier asked you whether Krishnamurti overlooked
what he wrote. After finding what you quoted from Page 139
of Telugu Verbal Bases why did I ask you that? Precisely
because Krishnamurti did write many other things about ‘s’,
‘k’, ‘c’ ‘t’ etc in Dravidian languages in the same book,
which you are not aware of. Had you been aware, you would
not have posed that question at all to me. That makes it
clear to me that your quotation is from secondary sources.
Everything about primary source will be given in many
secondary sources.
Further, even a novice initiated to Dravidian grammar
understands that " ...Tamil (and also old Malayalam) drops
an Indo-aryan s, initial as well as medial. " but you find
that now in Krishnamurti’s book (that too - due to reasons
explained above - from secondary source) (that is why you
think that I overlooked a too obvious thing)(and even after
telling, you do not understand that it is irrelevant to this
discussion). This makes one more thing clear – that you are
not familiar with the subject under discussion (that is
Dravidian languages) and are relaying on secondary sources.
As such there is nothing wrong in quoting from secondary
sources if the quotations are not out of context –but that
requires a clearer understanding the subject under
discussion.
I shall welcome any posts which add value to my
understanding.
