Gmc. *bugjanan / *beuganan

Hello,

I think that a connection has been proposed between Germanic *bugjanan "buy" (> English buy, etc.) and *beuganan "bend" (> Eng. bow, German biegen, etc.), though this connection hasn't been widely accepted.

Regardless of any semantic difficulties, would *bugjanan be a normal formation on *beug- in Germanic (i.e., zero grade + *-ja-)? If so, what would be the expected semantics of this derivation?

Thanks
