An obvious consideration would be whether it came straight from Latin or via an intermediate language.
My guess is that these probably included German, Slovenian, Venetian and French (there was a French dynasty in Hungary, right?

Is there any consensus about soundshifts from Latin (or Romance) to Hungarian?
For example, personal names Gregorius > Gergelyi, Philippus > Fu¨lo¨p, Ioanis > Ja:nos, Elisabeth > Erzsebet
