Rick, in despite of his phonetic resemblance, 'plough' and 'plug' are
semantically worlds apart. Originally, a plug was a kind of wooden peg
or nail, found for example at the bottom of chess pieces so they could
stand up in despite of shaking movements (especially when travelling).
