Wasn't yoga --the exercise + meditation kind-- brought to the West in the late 1800s? As I remember, aren't there 5 kinds of yoga mentioned in Vedic texts --is that right?

Whereas some IE scholars see the IE roots of Yoga, a new group wants to deny completely its Hindu heritage, effectively projecting it as a modern practice and snapping any potential links with the PIE heritage.
