Could oldest attested form of name Yerushalem, Urus^alim or Rus^alim be of
Mitanian origin? I was thinking if this uru- could be explained as Indo-Iranian
*uru-/waru- "broad", or (u)rus^a- < IIr *wrs^a- "bull, male animal". Midianites
played an important role in Biblical, and maybe could represent a substratum or
adstratum in Canaan.
