If that were the case, the zero grade should be *dih1wo-. Where can you
see laryngeal lengthening? Neither gen.sg. *diwós nor the adjective
*diwjo- exhibit it.


There was claims about it, I think Szemerenyi supported a root *deihW-, although I know his labio-laringals and palatal-laringals (hW, hY) are not currently accepted.

Again, where can you see any forms of the 'winter' word with final
*-u-/*-w-?
