So, a model *CCeC(C)- : *CeCC-o- sounds likely.

*g^Hyem- : *g^Heimo-
*dyeu- : *deiwo- (or *dyeh1w-?)
*uder- : *wedro-
*bHreh1g^- : bHerh1gô-
*dHg^Hem- : dHeg^Hmo-
*dreh-u : *derh1-wo-

Should we guess a formation with -u?
*dyeh1-u- "shine, sky"  : *deih1-wo- "the shiny one, the sky being"
*g^Hyem-u "snow"? : g^Heim-wo - "the snowy season", later shifted to *g^hyem-u / *g^Heim-o-, and then, by analogy, to *g^Hye(:)m-?

Why, then, do we have gen. *diw-ós rather than *deiw-os? In the case of
the thematic vowel it's difficult to speak of the full grade (as opposed
to some other grade), beacause the thematic vowel never alternates with
zero in one and the same paradigm. This "Kurylowicz vr.ddhi", as they
call it, sometimes operates as expected, e.g. *trej-ó- 'consisting of
three' (Skt. trayá-), not *ter-j-ó-, or *dHg^Hem-o- 'earthly', not
*dHeg^H-m-o-.
