Could someone explain to me what the phonetic notation 'raised /i/' (after an /y/), used by Lubotsky, f.i., in the following link:

stand for? It is something peculiar to his own transcription of Sanskrit roots, but I am not sure as to whether it denotes labialisation of the /y/ (as I wrote in the above quoted message of mine) or not.
