Boutkan & Siebinga, Old Frisian Etymological Dictionary s.v.
<panni(n)g>, mention 'such early BS. loans as Lith.
<pìningas>, OCS <pe^ne,(d)zU> "money", which seem to
indicate that the form without <d> is the older one'.
Boutkan suggests that 'the forms containing -d- are perhaps
epenthetic innovations'.
