That one's even worse than ['kju:,pAn]. I do still hear
(what I consider) the correct pronunciation, and both AHD4
and and M-W Online still list it first.

Seems unlikely to be *just* that, given <turbot>, <carpet>,
<limpet>, <strumpet>, <trumpet>, <crumpet>, <surfeit>.
