Would that be the one to which the verb 'desacrate' belonged?
On the other hand 'smite into' (Google: 499 hits) would seem to
indicate that that language has a German (reinschmeissen) or
Scandinavian substrate. Confounding.

Anyway, thank you for demonstrating the extreme emotionotionality of
that subject which was my point, or at least one of them. According to
my analysis Thor, who judging from the extreme frequency of his name
in toponyms was the god of the common people, unlike that upper class
twit Odin, didn't speak Germanic and would likely be extremely pleased
to see Odin's language as creolized as it has become on that island
(and to a lesser degree on the opposing coasts).
