Quite strangely, this suggests something like oxwo,
strikingly looking like Germanic axwô.

As regards Finnish vuori "mountain",
UEW 571 *wor has the expected doublet with n :
Moksha när "cape"
Zyrian nïrek "landspitze"
These words are usually attributed to a metaphoric meaning of the word
"nose".
From my point of view, the existence of this alternation n / w is a very
strong indication that most of these words are not loanwords.
