What I didn't realize is that Germanic and Slavic have <g-> (<h-> in
Czech) while Latin has <f->. I failed to pick up on the fact that PIE
*gh- should yield Latin <h->, not <f->. That's a very important
consideration that I didn't take into account, and which makes me now
support your doubts about the connection of <faveo:> to the purported
Germanic and Slavic "cognates". So I agree with you, now.
