Science is not about "the truth"; it's about working models which help
us to understand how reality works, and which can be improved or
replaced if contradicted by the data. The IE theory explains why
languages as far apart as Irish and Bengali or Portuguese and Latvian
exhibit correspondences that cannot be blamed on chance, borrowing or
the effects of linguistic universals. You're welcome to revolutionise
the field, but only if you come up with a better explanation.
