The other day I saw a Swedish-Kurdish stand-upper tell his audience
that 'Actually, Odin was Kurd!'

****GK: What do you mean a Kurd? Everybody knows that "Odin" (='the One' in Ukr. cf.also the Matrix) was a Ukrainian! And that this piece of information stems from refugees who went west after 1117, when Tmutorokan(=Troy/Asgard) was captured by the Cumans. These refugees passed the info on to the Scandinavian pretorians of the Prince of Chernihiv, some of whom were Norwegians and Icelanders. They passed it on to Snorri. The urge to recapture Asgard/Tmutorokan lies behind the Lay of Prince Igor (composed ca. 1187).
