****GK: Snorri might even turn Torsten into an OIT believer? (:=))? BTW Tacitus believed the German(ic)s to be autochtons. Presumably there was nothing about migrations in their old songs (ditto earlier re Scythians, and many others. So the Elphinstone point is hardly "food for thought").****
