Hello
in Celtic there is a root Lem- = voice/sound > to speak
cf Welsh Llef = to cry

For a long time I get excited about the etymology of Alb. lajm 'word,
news, message, notice'. I think that in someway it should be connected
to root *leg'- 'to collect with derivative meaning _to speak_'. So, my
view is that this word is derived from o-grade suffixed form *log'-m
with velarization of palatal /g'/ before nasal and later with its
evolution to palatal glide /j/, as in other cluster (cf. *log'-zda >
Alb. lajthi 'hazel-tree, hazel-nut'), cf. Greek logos 'speech, word,
reason'.
