Subject: [tied] mimz = Mímir , the Cutter?

I found in Google books an interesting reference about Mímir

http://books.google.com.br/books?id=o0N7Sjh7EvoC&pg=PA66&lpg=PA66&dq=m%C3%ADmir+mimz+mime&source=web&ots=CkSSWB7u4I&sig=jrcZJ2PLigXeLljxmB6xI986sGE&hl=pt-BR

Mímir would mean "the Cutter".

Patrick:

There is hardly no possibility that Mimir means 'cutter'.

He is the 'rememberer'.

So, it let me thinking... Mímr the Cutter as a kind of first Carpenter, who
cut the Primordial Tree, who separated sky from earth; who killed the
Primordial Man and the Primordial Cow... (cf. Avesta)

Mímr meaning "cutter", cognate of *me:mso "meat, cut piece of flesh"

***

Patrick:

This is altogether a different root.

***

Kronos < *kr- "to cut" ? akin to Latin caro: "meat"
Tvastr < *twerk^- "to cut" akin to Greek sarx "meat"

Tvastr related to dragon Vrtra, enemy of Indra, Storm-God
Kronos related to she-dragon Kampe, enemy of Zeus, idem
Mímir related to Odinn, not a Storm-God, but having some of his traits.

I think it seems a nice bunch of common traits .

Small similarities do not constitute integral relationships.
