you mentioned is very interesting.
In Pokorny, we have 1. *pel-, *ple:-
2. *pel-, *pla:-; and
9. *pel-, *plo:-.
According to the 'laryngeal theory, I as understand it, this would require,
in this order, *H1, *H2, and *H3 as root extensions.
Is that not a little strange?
