Come on, Torsten, don't be an ogre. You know Brian has
seen this material and it does say the
creoleness/criollismo of Afrikaans is not universally
accepted, While I'm inclined to side with you, I
respect Brian's opinion and want to see what he has to
say. The verb system of Afrikaans definitely resembles
that of English Creoles, so does the use of double
negatives vis-a-vis a parent language that doesn't.
But there's a lot the article doesn't tell us that
Brian may know.
