This case is fairly strange.
If we apply your vocalic theory

PIE1 *bhar- should split in :
*bho:r when stressed
*bher when unstressed

Actually *bher never was long.
and *bhér-e is basically a levelling
from the unstressed forms in the paradigm
I supposed it was we and you
which were unstressed

law" (Du. zwager, G. Schwager > Pol. szwagier).

Logically it should be

*swe:k^ur- < *swi:kur
and
*swik^ur-o:s < *swikur-a:s
