Simply by googling, I had come across a PDF document
(<http://www.leidykla.vu.lt/inetleid/baltistic/39_2/straipsniai/str8.pdf>) that cited the
following derivation: narsas <*nart-sa-s (: nirsti, nirtau). Perhaps this is in some way
instructive, though unfortunately I can't read Lithuanian :/ which the document appears to be
in!
